Information Birthdays: If your child has a birthday while we are in school, we will celebrate it on that day. Birthdays that fall on weekends or holidays will be celebrated on the last school day before that date. You may send a store- bought treat if you wish.
All-star of the Week: Every child will have the opportunity to be the “All-star of the Week.” A note will be sent home a week in advance to prepare for this exciting week for your child to shine. Being the All-star means that your child will direct the class in our morning procedures, be a line leader and teach the class something new by sharing a “Show and Teach” lesson on the last day of the week. Show and Teach: Your child will be given the opportunity to teach our class how to do something of his or her choice on the week that he or she is the class All-star. You and your child will select something that your child has interest in. Next you will prepare a simple lesson/activity with step-by-step instructions to teach the entire class. A few ideas that have been done in previous years include, but are not limited to, paper airplanes, ghost lollipops, how to plant a plant, origami, how to play a game, etc. The lesson should be 15 to 20 minutes long. He or she needs to bring all the supplies needed for the students in the class to participate. These lessons will take place on Wednesday. Parents may help prepare the lesson, but may not help during the lesson in class. This should prove to be very educational and fun for the students. |
